Holiday Gardens
Pickering Ontario
Holiday Garden was established in 1961 through the efforts
of a group of Slovenians including George Milielich, Frank Jerina,
Frank Kraljid, Joe Strucelj, and Janko Kobal. The park, which
is east of Toronto, contains many coniferous and broad leafed
trees and a small brook on its sixteen hectares. A clubhouse,
dance pavilion, and swimming pool were built on the grounds.
The club was incorporated in 1964. Activities such as picnics
with musical entertainment and Octoberfest celebrations are
held annually.
